After an apprenticeship as a structural engineer, he worked for nine years in various offices in this profession and as a spatial planner. After maturity in 1991, he graduated with a master degree from the ETH Zurich in 1996. From 1993 to 2008, he was founder, partner and chairman of werkhof ag (architecture, interior design, product design and visual communication). In addition, 17 years as a lecturer at ETH Zurich in construction organisation and real estate economics. Concurrently, 14 years on the board of the SIA Zurich section; many years as president and, among other things, chair of the working group on contract standard 150 “Provisions for proceedings before an arbitral tribunal”. Founding member and president of www.zaz-bellerive.ch until 2024.
Since 2008, Founder, Partner and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the architecture firm mépp partner projekte ag (www.mepp.ch). The range of work carried out by mépp includes a wide variety of urban planning, architectural and interior design tasks: residential, industrial, office and school buildings, conversions and the preservation and renovation of listed buildings. Since 2020, he has also been a founder and partner in the development company www.ligneo.ch and a co-owner and ambassador at www.aneecy.ch. He also works as a jury president, chairs the evaluation or advisory committee and is involved in process programming. He regularly writes expert reports on procedural topics and planning instruments.
